Curtain Measuring Guide
Measuring Tips
50x84" - Horizontal rectangular window- falls above baseboard or close to floor length
- If you are covering more than one window, make sure to measure each window separately.
- Windows that may seem the same size, frequently are not.
- For most accurate results use a metal measuring tape.
- Be precise and round each measurement to the nearest 1/2 inch.
- Because of the heavy weight of our panels, it is recommended to use a heavy duty rod/pole. Tension rods are not suggested.
- Use the following "standard" measurement guide to help you determine and compare to the appropriate size needed:
50x84" - Horizontal rectangular window- falls above baseboard or close to floor length
Step 1-Determine Width Measure the desired width across the window. Because not all windows are exactly the same, measure separately the top and bottom. Panels will be gathered on the rod or pole, so you'll need additional width for a full/bunched effect (rather than flat). Multiply the width measurement 1.5 or 2 times (depending on the desired fullness). Divide this measurement by 2-this will be the width needed for each panel (when using 2 panels per window). |
Step 2-Determine Length Determine where you would like the panels to hang to. Measure from the top where your panels will be hung to the desired length. See picture to determine where you would like the panels to fall. A-Windowsill Length B-Apron Length (or above baseboard) C-Floor Length Order curtains to the exact length as measured, rounding to the nearest 1/2 inch. |
